Vince Virr creates and performs dance works on the ground and in the air. He is a multifaceted international dance artist having performed, presented and collaborated dance works in 28 countries across six continents. His own work explores the often hidden voices within rigid structures, giving visibility to those that feel pushed aside. He is passionate about work for young audiences, cross cultural exchange and intergenerational participation.

Vince is currently touring his dynamic dance duets Pop! and Then What both available for booking.

This year he has been guest choreographer at Northern Ballet, trained and choreographed local people in vertical dance for aerial crane and wall as Associate Aerial Director for Bloom by Upswing, choreographed for Jez Colborne’s Lighthouse (Unlimited, Mind The Gap), choreographed on Fusion Youth Dance Company, toured Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, Belgium and South Korea and worked on the opening production of Bradford UK City of Culture as performer and Associate Aerial Movement Director for the community cast.

Pop!, a dynamic and visually vibrant dance duet for non-theatre/outdoor spaces is available for touring. Touring school playgrounds as part of Theatre in Schools Scotland program 2026/27. Originally an Imaginate (Scotland) commission. email vince@vincevirr.com

Previous commissions include Imaginate, Bradford Festival, Holmfirth Arts Festival, Kala Sangam, Hydra Arts and A.S.K. China. Previous roles include Associate Director with National Theatre of Scotland (We’re Here Because We’re Here), Artist in Residence with A.S.K. (China), movement direction for Displace Yourself Theatre and Poorboy Theatre, co-choreographer on the Beijing Acrobatic Troupe, dance lecturer at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance (2011-13). His own works have been performed in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Belgium, France, Austria and China.
